Aaron Hedges

Aaron Hedges, unites with Mz Sunday Luv and Robert Owens supplying us with ˜Inside Your Heart". Listen today on Naked : Part Two. In the 1990s, Aaron discovered the illegal rave scene, dancing every weekend at beach sunrises with Donald Glaude or smoky acid house warehouse parties. His passion for music led him to buy his first DJ equipment and experiment with mixing. While studying at University, Aaron began DJing regularly. He played across the city of Washington, from underground parties to major venues like Velvet at National Ballroom and Tracks nightclub.Frustrated with his career's progress, Aaron founded his own label, District of Corruption, in 2002. His track "Watching Me," a post-9/11 techno piece, was picked up by Jeff Mills for his "Exhibitionist" project. Motivated, Aaron moved to Berlin in 2004, expanding his label and collaborating with talents like Akiko Kiyama, Mano Le Tough, and Efdemin. In Berlin, Aaron played at iconic venues such as Panorama Bar/Berghain, Maria, and Club der Visionaere, as well as internationally in Paris, London, and Cape Town. After a decade of label management, Aaron shifted his focus back to music composition and performance.

Hailing from the vibrant musical landscape of Chicago, Alex Zelenka is an independent musician, producer, DJ, and songwriter who has pursued his artistic dreams with true dedication since childhood. With a career rooted in emotional authenticity and creative exploration, Zelenka's music channels the raw feelings of love and sadness, resulting in a sound that resonates deeply with listeners around the world. Since beginning his production journey in 2002, Alex has relentlessly refined his craft, emerging as a prolific force in both the studio and on stage. His debut single Sugar Bear; dropped in 2017, setting the tone for a prolific output that now includes over thirty digital releases and remixes. Several of these works have been immortalized on vinyl, a testament to his enduring appeal in both digital and physical music formats. Zelenka's unique sound, production and remixing prowess have also earned the attention of music legends, including Elton John, who recognized his talent in track reviews. This everlasting passion for music and creativity catalysed the inception of his record label "Invisibles". Joining forces with Andrew Imel, Zelelnka released on ˜Ping Pong Remixes" for Musical Directions.˜Dreaming Long Version" and an instrumental version, ˜Dreamstrumental Long Version" appear on the album. Both releases resonate his signature lucid floating sound, pairing beautifully with Robert Owens vocals.

Andrew Emil

American born Andrew Emil is a multi-skilled individual working for over 20 years in the music industry. He was a key player in the 3rd wave of Chicago house music artists, showcasing his production and DJ talents ultimately to the world. Not just a talented selector and production maestro, Emil is a classically trained musician, performing as a concert percussionist at aged eleven, and later down the line a keyboardist performer. This artist has boasted releases with many esteemed record labels such as Cafe Del Mar Music, Classic Music Company and King Street Sounds. On top of this, Andrew Emil has completed remixes for a wide range of superstar artists such as; Common, Kanye West, Little Louie Vega, Steve Silk, Hurley, David Morales. The artist alias, Change Request was conceived when Emil ventured into more abstract sounds, leading to co-founding the label AstraVox Music which continues to push the boundaries of electronic music as we know it today. As mentioned, all corners of the music industry have been explored by this individual, notably marketing, where he has worked with high-profile production companies such as Waves Audio, grammy winners-EventIde Audio, Moog Music and Akai Professional. Bernard Badie is a pioneering figure in Chicago House music, known for the timeless classic “Time Reveals.” His journey began in 1986 as a DJ and broadcaster on Chicago’s 89.3 FM before stepping into production in the early '90s under the name Jackin' Bernard Badie. With guidance from Dance Mania’s Ray Barney, he launched his own imprint, DJB Records, showcasing his unique sound. Throughout the '90s, Bernard gained global attention with releases like the album Sound Traxx on Distance, and collaborations with legendary artists including Ron Trent, Larry Heard, Robert Owens, Dajae, and Darryl Pandy. His catalog spans smooth soulful grooves, French House, jackin’ funk, and deep late-night rhythms—each track marked by his commitment to quality and musical diversity. His music has appeared on respected labels such as Cajual, Defected, and Tony Records. Badie gifts ‘Ping Pong’ from Naked : Part One, a track possessing the grooviest of synth propelled beats, destined for dancefloor greatness. ‘Ping Pong’ garnered such attention that Musical Directions had to offer a remix album with ten renditions.

Dave emerged as a major force in the UK techno/acid house scene during London's late 80s acid house explosion. Recognised by Mixmag, DJ Magazine, and The Guardian, he gained widespread acclaim. His groundbreaking pirate remix of Eurythmics’ "Sweet Dreams" was officially released by RCA due to its immense popularity. Over his 20+ year career, Dave has released music on labels like Polydor, Fnac, React Records, and Island, earning both commercial success and critical praise. As a sought-after remixer, Dave has worked with top electronic artists including Orbital, Carl Cox, and Underworld. He founded Rotation Records, giving early exposure to artists like Adam Beyer and Laidback Luke. His 2014 Anjunadeep release "Quartz", received support from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, Adam Beyer on Drumcode Radio and on Group Therapy podcast by Above & Beyond. This artist is a globally recognised DJ and Grammy award-winning record producer, who has left an undisputed mark on the music industry. With over 500 records produced and remixed for icons such as Mariah Carey, U2, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Whitney Houston, Morales played a crucial role in bringing dance music to the mainstream. In 2018, he launched DIRIDIM Records. During the pandemic, Morales remained active, launching the successful live-streaming show "Sunday Mass" on streaming platform Twitch. Morales’ career continues to thrive exponentially, with DJ gigs scheduled worldwide. Eric D. Clark is a genre-defying DJ, producer, and musician with over 30 years in the global music scene. From his early days as a gospel and classical piano prodigy in California to residencies in iconic clubs across San Francisco, Paris, Berlin, and beyond. Clark has graced the speakers of esteemed venues such as; Tresor, Kit Kat, a live performance in Berghain’s Panorama Bar, Pacha Ibiza and an MTV Beach Party in Uruguay. Clark’s sound bridges disco, electro, house, and experimental electronics. As a founding member of Whirlpool Productions, he gained international acclaim with hits like “From Disco to Disco”. A prolific solo artist and collaborator, Eric has worked with legends like Giorgio Moroder, Gloria Gaynor, Chaka Khan, and Chicks on Speed. His creative ventures extend into curation, visual art, and academia. With recent projects including gallery shows, vinyl-themed exhibitions and live performances. Currently, Eric is active with DJ residencies across Europe, running his label Subcurrent, releasing new music on Poker Flat and other labels, and continuing to shape underground culture with his unique blend of artistry and activism. Combining this new sound with heavy influences of the original Detroit sound and Amsterdam's underground, he creates his own sonic blend of excellence. This individual is both a skilled DJ and impressive producer. As a DJ, he brings an eclectic sound to dancefloors mixing from all areas of techno, providing true crowd immersion at all times. Based on these track selection abilities, many podcasts have frequented his mixes; including HOR Berlin, CLR Podcast, Slam Radio and Electric Deluxe. On top of this, Roberto has performed at countless esteemed venues including; Fabric London, Tresor and Berghain. R.M.K has not only mixed in high class establishments, he has also released on world renowned labels such as Soma Records, Fachwerk and Obscura. In 2015 he started his own label Fossil Archive with the main ethos outputting tracks of the highest sound quality, therefore keeping most releases vinyl exclusive. Legendary musician and vocalist Robert Owens is the visionary founder behind Musical Directions. His lifelong passion for music began with singing gospel in his church choir in Chicago, it was here that his truly iconic voice began developing. His early career working with Larry Heard and many other Chicago producers pioneered House music into the world appreciated genre of today. Fast forward twenty plus years, Owens has proved himself endlessly as one of the greatest singers, songwriters, producers and DJs in all of electronic dance music. Robert Owens is a true maverick of innovation, testing the boundaries of electronic music. Just some of his hit songs include ‘Tears’, ‘I’ll Be Your Friend’, ‘Ordinary People’ and ‘Bring Down The Walls’ all of which are solidified as genuine dance classics. His recent album ‘Naked: Part Two’ is part one of a four part series and was released on Musical Directions. This album and its soon coming releases sonically align with Robert’s vision of breaking down the genre divides of House and Techno, unlocking the beautiful components of both. This label stands at the forefront of the industry being established by 4-time Grammy nominated producer and house music pioneer Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley, along with Shannon ‘DJ Skip’ Syas. Ryan curates a unique blend of global sounds, bringing together musicians from around the world and it was this eclectic approach which caught attention of aforementioned Chicago greats as well as K’Alexi. A remix for Robert Owens further underscored Ryan's prowess. DJ and producer Willy Lubisi, better known as Sculptured Music, has been deeply rooted in the dance music scene for over 15 years. Born in Bushbuckridge Johannesburg, he developed a passion for music from a young age. His journey began with studying Sound Engineering at the Academy of Sound Engineering (ASE) while collecting records, laying the foundation for his career. Over the years, he has built a reputation for producing and playing an eclectic range of deep house music, with four albums to his name. His breakout release, Fast Lane with Zano (2014), became an internationally acclaimed classic, solidifying his status as a prominent figure in the house music community. Sculptured Music has continued to evolve, producing smash hits such as Overflow, Sing My Blues, and Sad to Think, dominating dance floors across South Africa. His exceptional production skills earned him the Best Producer of 2019 award at Dance Music South Africa and a nomination at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs). He has since collaborated with industry heavyweights like Robert Owens, releasing on Atjazz Records, Freerange Records, and local labels like Stay True Sounds and House Africa Records.
